Course Overview
Graphic design software’s are used for completing different tasks. Although they are part of the same software category – graphics editors, but they process images of different types: Adobe Photoshop is a raster images editor, CorelDraw/illustrator is a vector images editor.
Photoshop software is mainly used for the editing, cropping, resizing, manipulating and giving special effects to the images.
CorelDraw/illustrator is used for illustration and for creating business cards, barcodes, pamphlets, banners, logos etc.
InDesign is a desktop publishing software application for creating flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, and books.
Learning Outcome
By the end of the course students are expected to be more comfortable working with the following:
- Understand how to use colours
- Create your ideas
- Editing photos in Photoshop
- Removing unwanted objects from an image
- Sizing and saving images for print
- Use Illustrator and CorelDraw to draw basic shapes
- Understand typography
- Building Prototypes
- Creating a book or magazine layout in InDesign
- Create Mock-ups of documents
- Packaging files for printing purpose

Course Summary:
Students are required to come with their laptops as this will help you perform better.
Lecture: 2 or 4 times in a week for the regular classes or Saturdays for the Weekend Classes
Morning Session: 9am – 11am, 11am – 1pm.
Afternoon Session: 2pm – 4pm.
Evening Session: 4pm – 6pm.
Weekend: 10am – 2pm, 3pm – 6pm (Course duration may be extended)
Note: Student may decide to run the class for 4 or 5 times in a week if there is time to do so, thereby completing the course faster. Or 2 times a week. Opportunity is available to take 2 applications simultaneously in a week e.g Photoshop and Coreldraw or Illustrator & InDesign.
